I have measured and sourced most of the elements needed.

  • Cross / Squares = 14.5 mm
  • Heart Shapes = 5 x 4.5 mm
  • Small Pearls = 1 - 1.5 mm
  • Squares = 4 mm
  • Gems in Squares = 3mm
  • Two strand Twist = 1 mm or less

Some of my sourced bits are not exactly like-able and it would please me to get something closer to the original. So I am still looking and considering options.

Element Details

These elements for instance, may have been "Die-struck" using press forming dies. In my posts about the  Rus' Headress - Ryasny, I have been exploring how to create Die-struck pieces. If I am successful in making the elements of the Ryzany, I will then go on to form these pieces (most certainly the Cross Shaped one in the center).

The concensus from a discussion on a FB post, is that the larger braiding appears to be gold wrapped, two strand twist thread run three times in a “u” shape.

This project is currently on the back burner until all the elements for the make come together.
